Neighborhood Health Partners provides healthy sexuality presentations that are dynamic, fun, medically accurate, and comprehensive. Our goal is to provide programming help participants feel comfortable with their bodies and sexuality and to arm them with the information they need to make healthy and safe decisions. We provide presentations in schools and other community settings. All of our programming is medically accurate and age-appropriate. Please call us to schedule a presentation.

PRESENTATIONS

PUBERTY AND ANATOMY

4th – 6th Grades

Participants will:

  • Discuss the physical and emotional changes of puberty
  • Learn basic reproductive body parts and their function
  • Describe the importance of hygiene throughout puberty
  • Identify whom to go to for help or have questions

PREGNANCY PREVENTION

7th Grade and Up

Participants will:

  • Learn the difference between no-risk, low-risk, and high-risk behaviors as they are related to unplanned pregnancy
  • Discuss abstinence and all major forms of contraceptives
  • Discuss communication and decision making skills regarding healthy sexuality in general
  • Learn how to properly put on a condom (This presentation includes a condom demonstration)
  • Identify whom to go for help or have questions

 

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES (STD Talk)

7th Grade and Up

Participants will:

  • Identify the most common STDs and how they affect the body
  • Describe how STDs are transmitted
  • Discuss how STDs can be prevented
  • Describe the importance of effective communication and decision-making skills
  • Learn how to properly put on a condom (This presentation includes a condom demonstration)

 

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS

10 years – Adult

Participants will:

  • Brainstorm aspects of healthy and unhealthy relationships.
  • Discuss sexual, physical and verbal abuse, and chemical dependency and their effects on relationships, as well as common “red flags” of unhealthy relationships
  • Learn about the importance of respect, communication, and trust.

 

CONSENT

6th Grade and Up

Participants will:

  • Accurately describe consent
  • Demonstrate an increased understanding of the role of communication when obtaining consent
  • Recognize differences between verbal and non-verbal consent
  • Understand coercion in a sexual situation

HEALTHY PREGNANCY

9th Grade and up

Participants will:

  • Preconceptual planning for a healthier pregnancy
  • Physical changes that occur through each trimester of pregnancy
  • Fetal development at key stages and during each trimester of pregnancy
  • Social and economic impact of an unplanned or problem pregnancy
  • The importance of birth spacing for healthier pregnancies and infants
  • the Empathy Belly demonstration of changes in the early third trimester of pregnancy
